Since 2022 October, in the UK, all British and Irish employees must prove their right-to-work for their employer to avoid illegal employment (this is a legal requirement, we must follow this regulation). WorkMotion UK uses the service of Yoti to provide a fully compliant, governmental-regulated right-to-work checks for their Britsh/irish employees.

For these checks only valid British/Irish passport (or passport cards) are accepted - no excuse.

Ok, but what to do if the Talent doesn't have a valid passport?

  • The Talent can apply for an urgent passport: Get a passport urgently (please note this is not the same as emergency travel document)

  • The earliest they can get an appointment is 2 days from when they apply and they get their new passport at their appointment.

  • This new passport is accepted for the right-to-work check, so no need to cancel the onboarding.
