In Switzerland, the employer is not required to state the reason when terminating an employment relationship. The employee is entitled to ask, however, in which case the employer must provide their reasons in writing.
Notice may be given without providing any reason (‘Kündigungsfreiheit’). Both employer and employee may end the employment relationship without providing reason or cause. However, a dismissal must not be abusive (wrongful or unlawful dismissal)
Two requirements must be met:
Employer to meet with EE to explain the real reason for termination
Employer must respect notice period
