Is it possible for WorkMotion to provide per diem payments?
Per diem payments are usually governed by the regulations of a specific country. However, companies are permitted to establish internal travel policies that may either comply with or modify the government's rules. The most common aspects that can be adjusted include the availability of per diem payments (if not mandatory), payment terms, and per diem rates.
At WorkMotion, we only offer a fixed per diem payment in some countries because we are still determining which countries mandate or recommend per diem payments. Instead of receiving a fixed allowance, our talents can submit their meal receipts to the platform and receive reimbursement for actual expenses.
Can clients reject per diem reimbursement?
A per diem payment is a daily travel allowance typically covering meals, incidental expenses, and lodging.
However, if the talent has received partial or complete board from the client, the client reserves the right to reduce or refuse the per diem reimbursement.
In these cases, the reason for the rejection must be confirmed with the client, and a decision must be made based on the country's specific regulations regarding the reduction or refusal of per diem.
