Employees who have transferred from an EU country and now reside/work in Bulgaria will automatically be enrolled into NRA ( The National Revenue Agency ) and therefore will have a BG Health Insurance Plan, which they will contribute towards through payroll deductions.
If an Employee asks if they can transfer a none BG Health Insurance plan via Payroll, the answer is no.
The health insurance which the employee previous had in a different country will no longer be active, as they are now residing in Bulgaria and therefore contributing to the BG social security system.
The employee will need to contact the previous health insurance provider and also NRA directly to see how the transfer can be initiated. There may be specific forms which the employee is required to complete from both parties.
As an employer, we are available to assist with any additional documents or verification needed to support this process from our side. However, the specific transfer and communication with TK & NRA will need to be managed directly by the employee.
