A1 Certificates
European countries manage business trips as follows:
Austria
An A1 is required for every business trip, also for work from abroad (workations), even if it is only for 2 days.
For a private trip, it is of course not necessary to have an A1. For frequent business trips (e.g. talent will travel to client premises in Germany every month) our vendor can apply for a longer duration A1 of up to 2 years. The A1 certificate can also be issued for several countries (e.g. A1 can be valid in all countries the talent will travel to, not only Germany)
Talents should thus confirm which countries will possibly be visited during the following 2 year period.

Portugal
Talents are entitled to compulsory accident insurance via social security contributions.
In addition, our Allianz Policy insurance covers 100% of all accident-related injury claims for the first two weeks and 70% after two weeks.
Travel within Portugal, Azores, Madeira: Insurance covers 100%, with no time limit.
Travel outside Portugal and within EU: The insurance also covers any accident-related costs for traveling outside Portugal and within the European Union for work purposes for 15 days.
Travel outside Europe: The insurance does not cover accidents for travelling outside the European Union without prior approval from the Client. As long as the doctors who are following the injured person agree that the person is not able to work, the insurance will pay 70% of the salary. There is no limit on those cases, it is from day 1.

Spain
Not required for business trips within Spain, but outside the residual region.
However, in the unfortunate event of an accident during the trip, the employee needs to report it directly to us so we can notify Asepeyo, our accident insurer.
If the employee falls ill during the business trip, they can use their health insurance since they will still be in Spain. The employee needs to request sick leave on the platform, and the Social Security system will send the sick note to us.
Additionally, our Health and Safety vendor, Quirón Prevención, should send the employee training on travel as an occupational risk. This training should be completed before the trip.
To request training from Quirón Prevención, please reach out to our point of contact, Susana Ibáñez Sierra, at sibanez@quironprevencion.com. Inform her of the trip details, and attach a copy of the employee’s ID/passport. Request her to send the employee the invitation to the online training.

Slovenia (Eurofast)
A1 certificate is not needed for business trip, however it is possible that some countries would request it if employee is traveling there very often, but this can be discussed on case by case basis.
In addition to other business trip expenses, travel allowances are obligatory in Slovenia.
However, please be aware that they might require an A1 certificate which usually costs Eurofast 100 EUR/hourly rate, per diems and travel allowance (more info in the country guide).
